Primary schools are required by the Department for Education to deliver first aid as part of the curriculum.
Mini Heroes makes this requirement simple for schools as all the hard work of developing lesson plans and resources to deliver first aid has been done for you. Mini Heroes is a ready to go package that FS 1st Aid Training can deliver to your children taking the stress away from your staff having to deliver something they may not feel comfortable delivering.
Mini Heroes is a story led, engaging course aimed at children from 3 years of age to 11 years of age. It involves short colourful stories through Power Point and video to demonstrate how to act in the event of an accident.
For the younger children (EYFS ages 3-5years) it covers being able to clean a small wound and apply a plaster as well as knowing how to dial 999 and speak to the emergency call handler for more serious accidents.
Key stage 1 (ages 5-7 years) cover safety awareness and emergency calls.
Key stage 2 (ages 7-11 years) they cover the DfE statutory requirements plus asthma, allergies, bleeding, head injuries, choking, bites and stings. They also learn about CPR.
Mini Heroes has been developed by people who are not only first aid professionals but also have experience of teaching these age groups and have a great understanding of how to appeal to them to keep them engaged. It has plenty of practical elements to it including role play so is not just a Power Point display and theory.
Mini Heroes has been tried and tested in the field with great response from both children and staff stating how engaging and fun it is!
Mini Heroes licence and packages can be bought by schools directly from Skillbase First Aid and delivered by your own staff.
