What is Mini Heroes?

First Aid Classes for Children-Meet Rohan, Maya and Liam

Primary schools are required by the Department for Education to deliver first aid classes for children as part of the curriculum.

We make this requirement simple for schools as all the hard work of developing lesson plans and resources has been done for you. Mini Heroes is a ready to go package. FS 1^st Aid Training can deliver taking the stress away from your staff.

Mini Heroes is a story led, engaging course aimed at training first aid to children from 4 years upwards. It involves short colourful stories through PowerPoint and video to demonstrate how to act in the event of an accident.

For the younger children (EYFS ages 3-5years) covers being able to clean a small wound. Apply a plaster and knowing how to dial 999 and speak to the emergency call handler for more serious accidents.

First aid for children in Key stage 1 (ages 5-7 years) cover safety awareness and emergency calls.

First aid for children in Key stage 2 (ages 7-11 years). They cover the DfE statutory requirements plus asthma, allergies, bleeding, head injuries, choking, bites and stings. They also learn about CPR.

Mini Heroes has been developed by people who are first aid professionals and have experience of teaching. Especially these age groups and have a great understanding of how to appeal to them to keep them engaged. It has plenty of practical elements to it including role play so is more than just a Power Point.

Mini Heroes has been tested in the field with great response from both children and staff stating how engaging and fun it is!

Not Just for Schools!

Mini Heroes is not just for delivery in schools. We can deliver to groups of children. Such as Cubs, Scouts, Brownies, Guides, Young Farmers, Girls/Boys Brigade, Pony Clubs. Or any other groups where you feel first aid training would benefit.

Licence and Packages

Licence and packages can be bought by schools directly from Skillbase First Aid and delivered by your own staff.
